Symptoms: Brave Browser will not start at all
Environment:

Symtoms Brave Browser will not start, no error messages on screen
Environment Linux, Gnome, Chrome, Brave Browser
Problem Description After renaming the host in Linux using ‘hostnamect set-hostname’ and subsequent reboot, Brave browser or Chrome) will not star at all. The system logs show
The profile appears to be in use by another Google Chrome process (8629) on another computer "
Solution Remove Profile Lock: Navigate to the directory where your Brave profile is stored. on Linux this is in your home profile ~/.config/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/
then
rm -rf SingletonLock
